Bottle Top Artist
September 24th 2007 08:17
Yesterday I went to a fair at a performing arts school, well organized, bands and all, and the Emcee was a pal, a drag artist by the name of Vanessa. She was a hoot, as were the dolly gurrl chorus line!
As we were leaving, we decided to check out the "bottle top" art work, it was a HUGE portrait of John Howard ( for non Ozzies, he is our "Prime Miniscule"); it was a protest banner declaiming him for being a liar, war monger and destroyer of social justice and rights.
A magnificent work. The artist selected myself and my friend to say something about the festival and Howard etc (and my friend also used to be a famous drag artist and musician and almost got a seat in our Federal Parliament...as a drag...years ago...but that is another story for another time...).
Anyhoo, Bottle Top man asked us for an interview and say what we thought of Howard, I let my friend go first, as I couldn't think of anything....he ranted on, as usual he was pointed, articulate and straight to the jugular!
Then came my turn...luckily I wasn't nervous in front of the camera. He asked me did I enjoy the festival etc, then "what do you think of John Howard?"...well, the dam burst!
I spat out a HUGE tirade, a veritable jet of vitriole at a machine gun rate, and after I finished, (by extolling the need to register and VOTE this maniac and his fellow clowns out), the artist remarked how amazed he was with our responses...so...that was nice...probably won't be allowed to visit Parliament House again though....wonder if I should join Howard's "myspace" site and leave a similar rant while I am in the mood.....Oh, I'll let you know when he posts our rants about Howard etc...should be fun!
cheers and....
VOTE OUT HOWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
