Mists swirling, within one's mind, gather and dissipate; moments flicker, into spams of fear, then abate again, for hatred inflicted, bears the cancer, of another's soul. CADEL EVANS WINS TOUR DE FRANCE!!!

July 23rd 2011 16:14
The Greatest Australian Cyclist

For the first time in the history of Le Tour de France, and Australian has won! Cadel Evans blitzed his fearless opponents, mainly the Schleck brothers, were left floundering in his wake, in the time trial today, the penultimate stage in the huge two week long cycle race.

What is special about this race, besides the gruelling alpine climbs, the deadly downward twists and turns and the massive kilometers they ahve to ride, is the last day, tomorrow, differs from all else, as whomever ends today in the lead, that is the fastest time overall, as it is accumulative, wins the whole race, and tomoorw is just a ride of joy, a way of celebration and homage to the nmew champion of the toughest cycle race in the world.

Well, that is in theory, you see, once you get to where Cadel is today, tomorrow, by custom since the race began, no one who could beat you, is allowed to try, they must politely keep to their place, behind the new chamipion.

But, since yesterday's bizarre bike breakdown, for Cadel, when his bike mysteriously had problems, without any incident to create a problem, I have wondered whether the technicality of sportsmanship, not overtaking the winner in tomorrow's race, will be observed?

Because, what if you were the Schleck brothers, or an angsty Contador, winner of previous two or so Tours, and still under a cloud for having a banned drug discovered in a routine test, decided to try and win it tomorrow?

If he did, what could they do?

Take it off him?

Food for thought....

Meanwhile, send Cadel Evans your good wishes and congratulations, this is his facebook site;
