Day Di Died
July 2nd 2007 14:28
I watched the so called special the other night, billed as revealing what happened that awful day Diana died...the promos, all gasp and a quick peek at gaiters...and as usual I was disappointed!
The recent TV show on Diana was simply the press exonerating itself from blame for her death. While doing so, they also managed to actually blame Diana herself, for using them at times, then getting huffy and not wanting coverage! The height of gall I would say.
These sociopathic personalities can only see how much money they can make out of prying into someone else's privacy. If the roles were reversed, and they were subjected to 24 hour a day surveillance and harrassment, I bet they would be a trifle testy too!
And why shouldn't Di have used them, she had no one else to turn to. Charles had the Palace PR army and she had a winning smile...and yes it was a devastatingly effective weapon.
But I write not about that fluff served up as serious reportage, but something that was said...and something not said, during a couple of interviews in that appalling doco, well really it was more like a tabloid news amalgamate.
Anyhoo, one of the photographers, who was at the crash scene said, casually, that Diana was conscious, talking and looked to have only a broken collar bone....just does not sound like llfe threatening injuries does it?
The bodyguard was interviewed, the one who has memory loss, only of the moments before the accident in the car...hmm...anyway, he does not once mention Henry Paul seeming to be drunk.
At any rate, had he been drunk, the bodyguard would have objected to him driving, and so would have Dodi, who would want to protect his special guest at all costs. The point is, the authorities suggest that Henry Paul was so drunk he was all but reeling across the footpath..but the hotel footage shows a sober looking man indeed.
Another tidbit tossed carelessly before us, was the fact that Dodi sent one of his minders to the jewelers that evening, to pick up two special rings he had made, which he was to present that night. The authorities always denied Dodi had rings made or intended to do so. The actual jeweler came out publicly himself recently, and stated, yes, Dodi had a ring made for Diana. The jeweler was told to keep his mouth shut at the time of the inquest on advice of his lawyers, who suggested it was in the interests of his health and well being that he remain silent.
I am now going to watch the concert, having taped it earlier...and wonder what it must be like to be one of those Princes, knowing that there are whispers in corridors of power that tell a different story to the one we are been force fed, yet remain determinedly gripping onto a gossamer of fiction, that the Lady of our times, the People's Princess, was brutally assassinated.
Peace unto you Diana and may your killers never find it!
