Calling all Dope lovers!

September 28th 2010 17:04
What would the Nimbinites think if they saw this!?!

Here is an amusing little film that will tickle your ribs! It is a short doco made by the US Dept. of Agriculture, and it is encouraging farmers to grow hemp, that is marijuana! (They use the Mexican/Spanish root for the spelling, marihuana

How to invade a planet.

March 21st 2010 16:18
First things first; one must have the technology to travel through space in a way that defeats the tyranny of time and distance. Then, you may decide to find a planet that looks quite fetching, something in blue, perhaps? It's an entirely subjective thing of course, but, there must be some basic prerequisites before your planetry 'purchase';

This OBE looks wired...

QUOTE ME NO QUOTES!

June 4th 2009 13:25
George Bernard Shaw

This is the first of many posts on the subject of great quotes in history. It spans from the ancient Greeks and Romans, to this very day. Of course, some will be full of import and cause one to reflect as the knell of familiarity chimes deep within our dusty brain corridors, others will merely entertain, for we are but briefly visiting, in this present incarnation, so there is no time to lose in having a good old laugh, and a ponder, upon the bon mots of the wise, the humorous and the ludicrous. Enjoy! And, if you have any pet quotes, feel free to add them to the list

Well, as it seems hardly anyone wants to stretch their brains to come up with some newly coined collective nouns, it is, once again, left up to me. And so, I shall oblige with this list for today...enjoy...whomever can be bothered to read it...anyone out there?...(echo..echo..)

A hatful of milliners.

More Amusing Collective Nouns

May 20th 2009 05:01
So here I go again, continuing to ride this WILD wave of blogging success, or, should that be excess? Anyhoo, here are a few more that slopped down to my fingers from my partly petrified preservative and additive bathed frontal lobes. Enjoy..or else..umm...err... sorry.

A dumpster of Bin Ladens.

More Collective Nouns for a larrf

May 19th 2009 14:58
Yes, here I go again, after my recent RAGING success, when I posted my first foray into the amusing world of collective nouns, some of course, would be more bemused, than amused, with my suggestions. To them, I say, each his/her own!

A prevarication of attorneys.

IRISH HUMOUR

April 5th 2009 07:53
The following joke is one of those 'forwards', so I cannot attribute it to anyone in particular, unless you own up now and tell me it is yours, I will then dedicate it to your good self!

BLAH! BLAH!! BLAH!!!

March 21st 2009 12:55
Now, before you dismiss the title of this pithy epistle, I wish to defend its use here; many times throughout english language history has this phrase, "blah, blah, blah!" been uttered, both in jest and in jibe, both verbally and written, within many genres of literature, from the comedic and satirical, to the cartoon and juvenile, this seemingly inane and at times contemptuous utterance, "Blah, blah, blah" has appeared and entertained, with like and dislike, through the ages.
VOTE YES! For Blah! Blah!! Blah!!!

Of course, as I am no etymologist, I cannot give a definitive history of this amazing phrase for all seasons, however, I would suggest it may originate from America, most likely within a comedic context, and it has spread far and wide ever since

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Orble World!!

March 12th 2009 11:14
Well....who would disagree? I like the cut and thrust, the parry with the parlay, in this best of all possible net-worlds, and unlike most other sites, Orble has a large Aussie contingent, of which a large percentage of their number are entertaining and literate, with a sprinkle of scintillating wit and a dab of discerning cultural taste, without which Orble would be boring, an intellectual and social gibber desert, especially if it were not for the spice and flavours added by our international brothers and sisters from America, Europe, Britain and just maybe, from a small but very potent Death Star near your neighbourhood...one needs to keep an open mind....

This is another one of those funny "forwards"; sent to me from my professor pal. This series of "he said she said" should tickle most of your fancies, however, a warning to all red neck, right wing chauvinist pigs, don't fly too low over this page, as you might feel your ears burning!!

January 25th 2009 06:20
Here is another of 'those forwards', sent to me by my professor pal, who loves them! This one will appeal to the women more than the men I suspect, however, it is rather amusing so I suspect all will like it, to some degree! ENJOY!!

What makes an Aussie proud?

January 22nd 2009 05:53
It is getting near our national day of pride, so get out the eskies, fill them with your favourite drinks, scour the barbie, and dust off the deck chairs and bean bags. Oh, and maybe it would be prudent for those that love to imbibe too much, to have a few brand new plastic garbo bins about, with extra large bin liners, so as to catch those inevitable technicolour yawns that always seem to decorate the gardens of families and friends on our most auspicious day!

We love our Aussie flag!

INFO: International New Financial Order

November 24th 2008 12:16
INFO, the new acronym for the International New Financial Order, coined by President Hu Jintao of China, (actually he stated it as a "new international financial order", but he is Chinese and would find pithy, eye catching english acronyms difficult..so I adjusted it) President Hu Jintao, addressing the APEC conference in Lima, Peru yesterday, has put into the spotlight something that needs to be urgently addressed.

Our system is wrong and needs to be fixed. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be in this mess, thanks to the unbridled greed of the top end of town, and the tacit encouragement and approval of the governments supposedly protecting the country and its people. It is the Bush administration, and previous ones, who have let things degenerate to this level
