Mister Sheen is losing his shine!
June 23rd 2010 13:04
Just minutes ago, our Prime Minister Kevin Rudd held a press conference to state his leadership is being challenged, by Julia Gillard, his Deputy Prime Minister.
Gillard was reported as becoming furious when told that, Rudd, had begun canvassing for support, against a possible challenge by Gillard. The incensed Gillard allegedly then decided since her loyalty was being treated with such distrust, she may as well find out if there was a possibility to challenge the PM for his job.
Elements of the left wing and the right are apparently fed up with the way Rudd has performed in recent months, with polls taken showing the government will lose if an election is held now.
Political commentator Laurie Oaks said tonight he was impressed with Rudd’s press conference performance, that he came across as strong, dignified and determined, but such a showing was too late to save him.
It is a societal fact that the Western democracies like a strong leader, but sometimes that strength has underlining consequences, on a national and international level, that the voters begin to rue; the Bush administration is a case in point, as for Australia, Howard was our own minor military Trojan Horse.
What we need is a balanced leader; one who knows how to nurture our fiscal strengths and plan for the future, to keep our nation strong militarily too and how to communicate to the electorate, in plain english, so no one will wonder what the PM is saying, so they will not feel marginalised by intellectual elitist rhetoric, but feel included and understood, without feeling patronised.
Tomorrow will either be the rebirth of Rudd’s re-invigorated determination to lead Australia, or we are at the dawn of a new era altogether, our first female Prime Minister!
thank you for your service Mister Rudd....
and good luck Julia!

QUOTE ME NO QUOTES!
I don't think Gillard was in on preparations months ago, but the power brokers in the Labor Party certainly have been.
I think Rudd has himself to blame, he became more remote from the troops and wouldn't listen to reason, especially when dealing with the mining industry, something that I well remember Gough Whitlam doing, to his eternal political regret!
cheers
