Marriage, Monks and Monetary Mayhem!!
May 5th 2008 08:28
As a postscript to my two part reminiscence, I would like to reveal what happened to my old school, well, to some of the monks that taught and thrashed my brothers and me. After leaving and coming to Sydney, to be delivered into the less than caring arms of a Jesuit Order school, I found out after about six years, that many monks had left the Order and married!!
The Prior, the head monk and Headmaster of the school left the Order, got married and had lots of kids! A further five monks also left and got married, two of whom were pertinent to my story. The one that thrashed the fear of God into me for absent mindedly, and not maliciously, defacing the school chapel, and the nice arts loving monk, who looked at me with such compassion when I was accused. That monk had five children last I heard!
So, in closing, I think these facts point out the obvious need for the Catholic Church to wake up and get onto a more humanitarian track, and allow the priests and monks of the many Orders to marry. It would go a long way to solving many of the CHurch's problems with its clergy, I would think.
The Church started out that way, allowing marriage and including women preachers, but that was stopped as the power base centered in Rome, so much of the evidence, or any reference of it being so, was erased from official records.
The Church needs to modernize if it wishes to survive.
It needs to allow marriage for its priests, monks and nuns, allow preaching by nuns, allow contraception (funny that attitude, for the Vatican Bank owned a condom company anyway!), accept gay and lesbians, allow openly gay clergy with partners and divest the Vatican of its cancerous heart, that being, the elite members of a particular Masonic group, who also control the Vatican Bank; all run by a cabal of evil minded people with close connections to organized crime, money laundering and secret organizations.
Don't believe me?
Just type "Banco Ambrosiano" into Google and see what links you come up with...too lazy, that's ok, here is a brief outline by wikipedia

Yeah, I take your point here fully, what's with that anyway?
What is the point of denying our mammalic nature?
Our need to procreate, to touch, to feel, to do all that stuff?
How can I deny half of myself as unclean, doesn;t that also mean accepting that an alien was probably also my DNA forebearer?
I mean in India where Krisna was this knock-about bachelour-type you have a fairly manogamous, family-minded society.
Here, where Christ was (supposedly) all Chaste and Devine-like we have so much infidelity and homphobia and violent clergy and rape and God Knows what.
For me it all starts with thinking that there is no female half to the equation of the Supreme being ...
I mean, come on...

Since, at least, the 12th century, the Chrisitan view has been distorted and perverted from the original indeals and intended practises, as evidenced since the mistaken release of the microfische copies of the scrolls, allowing independant research, which has uncovered a completely different, far more 'human', and compelling doctrine and purview.
The Catholic and other Christian Churches, if it had ANY brains, would have considered these views and incorporated them.
Had they done so, it would have allowed the Church to grow again.
The problem is, the Vatican is in extremely evil hands, their ideals are nothing to do with what is professed publicly.
We live in dangerous times I am sorry to say, however, at least we are becoming more aware of the lies, conspiracies etc, for in the past, no one was aware at all, except those of the inner sanctum.

P.S.
Oh, and Lilla, you are so right, the whole evolution thing is based on a restricted view, the mountains of hard core evidence that has been discovered since the late 1980's is kept out of the scientific discussion, because it blows away the accepted doctrines, of timelines regarding development and how we evolved, where, when etc.

the beauty of democracy is being able to express an opinion, without fear or favour, and being civilised enough to agree, to disagree!
