FOG'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!
June 19th 2008 06:13
Pathetic of me I know, but, one has to sound one's own trumpet, otherwise one is destined to remain in the penumbra of life! I turned one year old yesterday, as an Orbler. My 'emotional age' is quite different of course; sometimes reaching my physical 52 years of age, sometimes a pathetically co-dependant childish six months old, and at other times a very grumpy 156 years....
I have had up to 200 odd readers (on the odd rare occasion) and get some comments from Orble pals every now and then, which is always nice, as it makes it feel more like a community.
I once rated in the top 100 Orblers...that is..ONLY ONE TIME...
I was sooo delirious with joy at finally reaching the heady heights of the top 100 Orblers, I almost threw a garden party, almost...
Instead I tossed a thesaurus across the room with glee, laughed slightly hysterically, and pondered upon just how low and insignificant my place in the writing world really is!!
These thoughts often lead to an inevitable conclusion... WHY BOTHER???
To that conundrum I have no answer; or is the real truth, unconsciously at least, I do not really want to know...how utterly pathetic of me if so...
Over the past 20 weeks, my stats were;
Total
HITS: 43651
READERS:15544
LINK READERS:7455
RANK: 3225.72
Which averages out per week as;
Average
HITS: 2182.55
READERS: 777.20
LINK READERS: 372.75
RANK: 161.29
As of today, I have earned the princely sum of.....
.....$19.69!!
I hope to break the $20- barrier this week....I said I HOPE to...
Going at this rate, I shall be receiving my first $100- cheque after five years continuous Orbling.... and what a joy and a surprise that will be when (if) it happens!!!??!!
WISH ME LUCK....I'M GOING TO NEED IT!!!

thanks very much for the good wishes, particularly since you have such difficulties with your pooter!! You must re-format it I think, it is the only way to rid those pesky viruses and whatnot and re-sets your system. Just save your work onto disc, then wipe and reformat, and before putting your work back in, load up AVG virus checker, its free. (I sound like I'm an expert..NOT!!)
And tanx for the cake and champers!! tee hee!

I have loved been a part of Orbleworld.. well often.. sometimes not!!
And there are many fascinating and interesting people out there. What a brilliant invention is the internet!!

P.S. Stella is woofing in the background, I am presuming she is sending her best to you.. not ordering me off the pooter.. as usual!!

But, the characters on Orble make it worthwhile! And it's good mental and creative exercise too.

You're a gem.
It would be remiss of everyone not to click on a Google Ad via your page to honour such an achievment - and thereby granting you your birthday wish of cracking the magic $20 ceiling.
Stay well old boy.

well... YOU GOT ME!!
I'M SINGLE!!
but just one small problem..well a few actually, but no need to go into that here!!
I AM A GAY LARD!!!
So, you have heard of "gaylord", which used to be a silly playground euphemism for "gay", well, I'm the bigger, older, and 'mush' fatter version... sad but true!
So not only am I gay, worst luck, I am 52, big tummy, (great legs and arms though), near penniless, no prospects, and tied to the emotional umbilical chord of one 14 and a half year old VERY demanding pug dog!!
You don't mind that she snorkel sleeps between us I hope...??
HOWEVER, if all that still rocks your boat, then...
ANNIE I"M ALL YOURS BABE!!!

Very nice...very charming.. VERY BOGAN!!
However, sadly you are right!!
All gays over the age of thirty start running away from the cities, or lie about their age until there just is not enough plastic left to disguise the horrid fact they are no longer young and virile!
The others die on the disco floor I believe, by overdose of amyl nitrite up the hooter, and gyrating too fast, boogeying to some gay anthem of the 70s, surrounded by gorgeous hunky men.. all keeping their distance.. what a way to go... except once one did collapse in such an enviroment, there would be squeels of annoyance first,
"WHATS SHE BEEN DOIN? WILL SOMEONE CLEAN THIS OLD WRECK OFF THE DANCE FLOOR!!
And then, once the queens realised you were dead, the place would clear to the bar till your body was ignominiously dragged across the under-lit dance floor, dumped in a body bag, and sent down the garbage shoot to the rear lane,
'so as not to upset the customers'..the EMCEE Queen would hiss at all who enquired..
Then the drag act, on later that night, would take up the theme, and send your recent demise up gutless, to the roaring approval of the crowd!!!
Oxford Street does have a rather gladitorial aspect about it...
I don't go to discos anymore...

your statement that, what if you had their body with your brains, reminds me of that dear old curmudgeon G.B.Shaw, when asked at a party by a high society dame (I think it was Lady Ascot actually),
WHY MISTER SHAW, IMAGINE OF WE HAD A CHILD TOGETHER? WHAT, WITH MY LOOKS AND YOUR BRAINS..
Shaw immediately retorted,
But Madam, what if it had your brains and my looks?
An oldie but a goldie... and it actually did happen!!

I agree! All evil people should be gorgeous looking, in fact ALL people MUST be FABULOUS LOOKING, the rest must shop at midnight, under large hooded garments, scurry to their cars and diappera again.
Maybe our local councils could apss a pedestrian pathway beauty bylaw?
Oh, and EVERYONE on TV must be drop dead gorgeous too...please let Johnny Depp know that I have a QUEEN size bed and he is welcome...next time you see him, you know!

I've just been into the Sydney Fish Markets and had a feed of mornay oysters and fish and chips (and wine of course) at Doyles. Came home, made coffee on milk and had a Drambue on the side, I'm feeling very mellow.
I know I should be doing the right thing and saving petrol and not eating out but stuff it, I might be dead tomorrow.

P.S. There ar ephotos of Stella, my pug, here on my site, ages ago I did a post entitle Pug Persons or some such, and had a few photos of her, oh, and a tongue in cheek post, about a Tibetan and Chinese incident at Wentwork Falls, (just after the awful demos in Canberra with the Olympic flame) but it was my pug (of Chinese ancestry) trying to attack a Tibetan terrier!!
You had to be there...
