Our Halls are Empty
October 11th 2009 08:29
Our Halls are Empty
our halls are empty;
the house is silent,
motes slowly drift sparkly,
in sun stream lightly,
animating our,
freeze frame home.
pale paw prints,
gossamer thin gently,
stamped on tile tops,
adorn the floors, forlorn.
hairs of her presence,
now etched epitaphs,
of her life too temporary,
reverberate into reflections,
ripping apart my heart.
she is gone soaring,
to bed snuggle ever,
my stellar Stella,
all cosy blanketed,
in stardust astral.
forever away never,
to return to nuzzle,
her grey white muzzle,
upon cheek and ankle.
I miss her so;
jowl to jowl,
snorkel-talk snorkling,
snoring and huffing,
panting and woofing.
no more demands,
or orders barking,
me offline to couch,
or bed to come,
cuddle and sleep.
my beloved one is gone,
her mastery missed,
my life now a listless,
lonely half-mast.

I'm so sorry, I can only imagine how quiet your halls are now. Your words are beautiful.
Thinking of you,

thank you for your kindness, I greatly appreciate it.
One thing to remember, when the awful day comes, make sure you ask that they give Frasier a pre op. anaesthetic, before they give the euthanizing drug, this way, your pet has twenty minutes of quiet sleep time with you, and then the last injection can be given without struggle or trauma.
Pugs have tiny veins which make it difficult to get a needle in, using the anaesthetic first, then allows them to do the job without causing any unnecessary distress.
I now call it the Stella Procedure.
