thank you all so much!
August 8th 2007 13:56
I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the following people;
and of whom I am gradually getting to know, in a 'bloggy like' way (as it should be!), through their posts, their humour and art, but also, and most importantly, through the bearing of their hearts to one another.
People so often forget to open up these days, or never trust anyone and wonder why they feel alone, or never bother to reach out to let someone else know they exist, or that they are appreciated by them, even in a small way. But, when it does happen, it is all the more sweeter and deeply felt, and each person is rewarded by these acts.
So, to Tammy (Histeries, Mysteries and what not), thanks for your warm words of recognition, and also for sharing some of your journey, which also sounded like a terrible trial, which mercifully you came through, and your wonderful nature and soul attracted the right man, what a fantastic end to such a story! (But do you bake an apple or cherry pie and put it on the window sill to cool?? hehe! Sorry if that sounds stupid of me, but I grew up watching that happening in American movies, you know, white picket fence, and all that, and ALWAYS wanted to live like them! hehe)
To Katyzzz, (MS Paint Art) thanks for your words of support, and yes, my story like so many others, are indeed salutary lessons for the young and old alike. I didn't go sober till I was 37 years old, and it was the second attempt, which stuck mercifully. Thanks again, also for your unselfish support of my oddball postings!
To Tracy (Movies and Life) thank you too for your words of support and yes, one gains more insight as one goes along, but not without work. Also, thanks for your support of my little blogs.
To Ash, (Australian Traveller) thank you also, and yes, faith does play a big part, but, I also know people who do not believe in "God', nor Buddha, etc, but were able to transfer the idea into an object; one chose the surge of the waves in the sea, which I was impressed with, as he could swim in his Higher Power and feel the energy! And your friend, with 6 years sobriety, congrats to them, and they are as accomplished as I am in this regard, as I am with someone of 30 years sobriety, as we all take it just one day at a time. So, we are all just sober for today! This gives others not yet clean and sober a sense of hope, something that they feel they too can achieve, for one day.
To Lilla, (Dream Interpretations), thanks to you too, and the warm and open hearted way you greeted me and so many others! They say, 'when the pupil is ready, the teacher appears', which is how a friend of mine got me to my first NA meeting. I can tell you are a great soul, with intelligence and insight, and you will deal with things when you are ready. I gave up fags too, about six years ago like yourself. Thanks again for your support.
To KylieW (Celebrity Obsession) and thank you too so much! I was amazed to read your comments, ( I thought you didn't read my nonsense!) and am flattered you left a comment! I also admire your honesty and your insight. I was told years ago, addiction is "cunning, baffling and powerful", and it can steal up to you like a thief in the night, meaning, you are in full on addiciton before you realize you have a problem, usually everyone around you suffers way before the addict does. It is wise of you to only occasionally flirt with it. Take care, and thanks again for your kind words of support.
To Dusk, (Rugby World Cup 2007) and thank you for leaving a word of support, I appreciate it very much! As for my 'nom de blog' ( I just love that! did you come with that creative adaption?), yes indeed, I am quite 'clear', but not always and, I liked the idea of fog, because of where I live, on top of a mountain...so one often has clouds roll down the street, and fog has an etherial quality I like, and it seeps and drifts through life, a bit like I do..hehe! Maybe I should be more light lightening, but I think those days are behind me! Thanks for your support too!
To Chic (ChicCritique), thanks matey, but no, it was very easy to write, as I have, in the past, spent hundreds of hours sharing about my past addiction and alcoholism, and also helping in group therapy so, after a time, the fear and embarrasment drops away, and you start to feel good about sharing your personal experience, for others did so for me, so I could slowly identify what was wrong, and how I could do something about it. thanks again for your support.
CHEERS AND BEERS!!!
yes I know, how utterly inappropriate of me, accursed black humour!!
(lets just say, beers of the non-alcoholic variety this time!! tee hee!!)

I think when someone else shares their story, especialy something thats not always easy to admit you did in your past, takes alot of guts. If i myself, or any reader has been through the same think, i think it helps sharing. Our past, no matter how painful or emberasing, makes us who we are today.
Taking something bad and turning it into possatives is the beauty of life.
Good for you and you'll keep learning and growing from this. I think your an amazing person and i've missed reading your stuff. I'm back nowafter my moms passing. I can now move on with my life and celebrate the life she had.
Take wonderful care!! Tammy

That is a lovely compliment to receive. Don't forget to give yourself a pat on the back too, for the effort you put in. It takes courage and determination.
Like Kylie, I also look forward to more of your stories...

I like your explanation for your nom de blog (yes, one of my pun-ctuation marks*).
...it fits when described as a way of thinking, not a state of mind.
....ginger beer right?
Be well fog

Thank you....but...
Unfortunately, the only thing Shakespeare and I have in common is that he wrote it...and I am much ado about nothing!
Looking forward to the 'CSI: Shakespeare' post
...and all the rest to follow.

a word of advice ... change the yellow on blue you're using for the type ... it's hard to read and a bit of an eyesore ...
