THE FIRE
August 19th 2007 07:28
It burns within;
some for all time,
unexpressed, never redressed,
concealed from critical gaze.
Ever tighter the grip,
evermore the fear,
to release the fire,
secretly held dear.
For from its light,
shadows disappear,
faces feigning kindness,
reveal a livid hue,
their heart of hate,
now in full view.
For the fire I speak of,
is artistic expression,
mortally feared,
by lovers of oppression.
